TPE or Thermoplastic Elastomer

The GENIAL cup is made of medical-grade TPE (thermoplastic elastomer). This material is made in Europe according to the very strict regulations on the manufacture of medical devices.

Scientific studies have determined that elastomer is non-toxic, hypoallergenic and won’t irritate your skin. This material is suitable for direct contact with blood and is widely used in the production of medical devices that have direct contact with the human body. It does not contain any phthalates, heavy metals, lead, PVC or latex and is soft, durable and tear resistant.

Our rigorous Total Quality Management System based on 21 CFR 820 – QSR Quality System Regulation from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) guarantees the quality of the GENIAL cup. The factory is also ISO 9001: 2001 certified. Products have been tested as hypoallergenic and ‘non-irritant’ by external labs.

Safety Information:

Sterilize the cup before the first use and at the end of each cycle. First boil the water, then dip the cup in it for 3-4 minutes. You must remove the cup before having sex. The menstrual cup is not a contraceptive method and it does not protect from sexually transmitted diseases. Menstrual cups are not designed to be used for post-natal bleeding. The menstrual cup is for intimate use so you should not share it. Never use the GENIAL cup for more than 12 hours at a time without washing it properly. Clean the cup with unscented, mild soap and water. Do not use scented soap, oil-based soap, castile soap, alcohol, antibacterial soap, hand sanitizer, vinegar, tea tree oil, dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, bleach or any other harsh chemicals. Use only water-based lubricants to insert into the vagina if desired. Oil-based lubricants can damage the cup. Never keep the cup in a plastic bag or airtight container. If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use and consult with your physician. If you notice that the cup has a tear and is leaking, becomes sticky, or starts to irritate your vagina, you must stop using it. Dispose of it in a waste bin. NOTE: the cup may naturally, slightly discolour over time. This does not impair its functionality.

The GENIAL cup is a reusable soft TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) cup that is worn internally like a tampon but collects—rather than absorbs—your period blood for up to 12 hours depending on your flow!

Directions:
